My whole life I have been driven by wonder and curiosity. I would spend long days on my bike, or wandering along ponds and swamps looking for creatures. I longed for lost ages of exploration, discovery, and blank pages on the map. After I read, saw, captured, or discovered new things, I was just as excited to tell others about it.
This has led to my career as a scientist and communicator/educator. As a scientist I am interested in urban ecology, the way that ecosystems respond to the human dominated landscape. As a communicator I want to engage and excite people through exciting experiences of the natural world. I want to help improve communication between scientists and the public through the development of citizen scientists that engages local communities exploring the natural world right in the areas where they live.
